Nurse Practitioner
SUMMARY: Experienced Nurse Practitioner with a Pediatric or Family Medicine background.

- Following basic clinical care standards
- Ensuring complete and timely documentation using the Company’s EMR
- Prescribing and administering medications
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required:
- Nurse Practitioner Medical Degree with Board Certification
- License to practice in Maryland
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in pediatric care or family medicine.
- Orthopedic trauma management and laceration repair skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent patient management skills and solid clinical judgment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role requires regular walking around the pediatric practice. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.

Medical Assistants
SUMMARY: Medical Assistants are responsible for aiding all providers in ensuring optimal patient care and promoting proper patient flow. Our staff is committed to our patients, providers, and co-workers to provide optimal patient care. As a central part of team-based care, we work together and participate in healthcare delivery to maximize continuity of care for our patients. As team members, our individual work is important, by itself, but it also influences how others are able to perform their jobs as well. Therefore, we want to empower our providers and staff to work to their highest licensure or capabilities. Staff should assist providers so that their responsibilities are centered on patient care, not on clerical, administrative, or ancillary duties that can be performed by other qualified team members. As a team our goal is to provide coordinated and comprehensive care for all of our patients.

- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, keeping patient areas clean and well stocked
- Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and record information on patients’ chart
- Assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients
- Update providers frequently on patient status and activity so those awaiting procedures are processed efficiently
- Update all staff on the status of patient flow so the need for additional personnel can be assessed quickly, and appropriate scheduling maintained to reduce patients’ wait times
- Assist the providers with retrieving voicemail messages and returning calls as needed
- Aid the nurse in performing lab work as directed
- Distribute appropriate patient information sheets, lab forms, school forms, medication forms and x-ray slips to patients as requested by the providers and checked by the nurses
- Interpret and support corporate goals
- Attend all department, management, special project meetings and training
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and or ability required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant Program completion preferred
- Minimum 1 year medical assistant experience required; experience with pediatric patients preferred
- Communication skills: excellent interpersonal skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; ability to respond effectively to all inquiries; ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling; ability to present information
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows applications; ability to use Excel; word processing; spreadsheets, e-mail, and Internet
- Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately
- Relies on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work independently on projects and as a member of a team
- Ability to multi-task and organize and prioritize workload
- Works well under general supervision
